Eddie Hedges –
Something to Believe In
By Chelsea 2004
Something to Believe in
from Eddie Hedges is a well rounded, strong collection of songs from the
Cincinnati
native who also
happens to be a founding member, co-writer, drummer, percussionist and
vocalist for Blessid Union of Souls. Previous number one hits include “I
Believe,” Let Me Be the One,” and “Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me for Me).”
His music has appeared on several soap operas and he co-wrote the 2001
NASCAR theme song. With all that success as a foundation, his debut solo
album focuses on blending together different styles of music, from pop
and R ‘n’ B veins to create an album of fifteen tracks of unique and
faith-filled music. Stand out tracks include “Live Again,” “Something to
Believe In,” and “Praise,” which has an upbeat feel and guitars that
give it an edge. The lyrics are all passionate and far from trite, with
praise to God and a hopeful heart for the path ahead:
I’m
still holding on/But I don’t know how long
Help me, I’m dying for you/To breathe new life into me
I’m down here on my knees/Help me I’m dying
There’s peace in this revelation/This I know is true
And glory in rededication/Bring me back to you
The solo album from
Eddie Hedges is an inspirational, diverse collection of feelings, styles
and praise that showcases his multi-faceted talent.
