Third Day - Time
By Chelsea 1999

The Atlanta, GA based band became quite popular and successful with the release of their debut and follow-up album, having received multiple Dove awards, a Billboard video award and Grammy Award nominations. Popularity of Time is already shown with numerous #1 singles. The new release captures the southern rocking signature sound of Third Day. They show as much style, musical talent and spiritual maturity as they did on their other records. Time kicks off with the rock ballad “I’ve Always Loved You”, a love song written through God's perspective to us. That song seems to set the tone for the entire album, but allows for many stronger, more rocking highlights to follow.

The album never falls away from the message of Christ and each song aptly ranges from the tender, worshipful “Your Love Oh Lord (Psalm 36)” to the harder rocking, “What Good” and all parts between the spectrum. The whole set of songs emphasize encouragement and worship. The band combines rock n’ roll, country, blues, and gospel beautifully to create their best album to date.

Third Day is a wonderful example of a band that can express the word of God through their unique music. Fans of both the band and their genre will enjoy the spirited Christian rock played with abundant passion and energy that has become so commonplace of Third Day.

TobyMac -Welcome to Diverse City
By Lissy Berg 2004

TobyMac strikes back with his second solo release, Welcome to Diverse City. This highly anticipated album fulfills its expectations, with a bunch of rockin' good songs that glorify the Lord. Several tracks in the album follow the path set by Momentum, TobyMac's first solo album.

The first song, "Hey Now," is sort of a sequel to "Let's Get This Party Started," and is an up-beat tune that will be stuck in your head all week. The song titled "Atmosphere" is along the same lines as "Irene," an encouraging track from God's perspective. "TruDog: The Return"  features Truett, Toby's six-year-old son. His inventive beats and funny lyrics give him a good chance of being the youngest and most adorable rapper ever to record his own song!

Diverse City also includes guest appearances from John Reuben, Superchic[k] and more. Tricia Brock and Matt Dally from Superchic[k] both show their skills in the song "Stories (Down to the Bottom)," with Tricia singing some background vocals and Matt rapping a solo. They both do a nice job, but Matt's style is a little different from Toby's, and seems a bit out of place. TobyMac ends his CD with a remix of "Atmosphere," featuring his dc Talk partners Tait and KMax singing background vocals, which almost brings you back to dc Talk's Supernatural days. All in all, this release is a phenomenal album, with sixteen brand new tracks filled with catchy, meaningful lyrics and great beats.
